Subject to the restrictions set forth in Section 2.1.4, the primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed under Section 2.1 (“Primary User”) may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer.
But the types of computers and their usage has blurred so much now that you can just pick any two you own and the product should install and properly activate on both…" This policy was designed so that you could run Creative Cloud (or Creative Suite) at home on your desktop PC, as well as while traveling with your laptop. The catch is that both computers must be used only by you and the two systems cannot be used at the same time. "So, in general, how many systems can you install Adobe software on, including the Creative Cloud (CC) and CS6? The answer for individuals (as opposed to businesses) in most cases is two. I recently installed some components of cs6 again and i couldn't go through with the install before i signed in to my Adobe ID and that's when the install immediatly gets activated! So, in order to be able to install cs6 on a 3rd computer you need to deactivate first, then you can install on the 3rd pc. I tried to re-install on a new one but the install refused since it recognized the license had allready been activated on 2 computers! I had to call Adobe to reset one! I had cs 5.5 installed on 2 computers and my computer crashed. So, i stand by what i said, after installation on 2 computers, 2 computers are activated. Since you have to sign in to your Adobe ID account after installation, it's immediatly activated after installation! You don't have to press a button in Photoshop or Illustrator to activate it! There is only a button to deactivate!

You can't even run both 32 and 64 bit versions of photoshop simultaniously!

This lets you view and manage and output/print your previously imported and adjusted images but without being able to further alter the full range of image adjustments etc. I believe the same is true for the other full suite software such as ID, AI etc.Įxception: Lightroom WILL still run, in order to maintain your access to your own image library. Photoshop will not run at all, if not signed in. If/when other computers that were previously signed-in, are eventually used and "talk" to Adobe's servers, they will become signed-out automatically then. This immediately frees up both licenses, so you can then sign back in on whatever computer(s) you now want to use. If you do not have access to a given computer (theft, hardware failure etc) in order to sign out, then you can request Adobe (via your Adobe account) to remotely sign-out all installations.
Signing-out frees up a usage license, which can then be brought back into use either on the same or on another computer, by signing-in there.
This is what activates it for use so far as Adobe, and your EULA, are concerned. In order to use installed CC software in a licensed manner you need to be currently "signed-in" to your Adobe CC account, on that computer. Maybe it's better to get more specific here:

In order to be able to use the installed software on that pc or MAC you have to activate it. You can install or more machines (you could install it on two Macs and one PC, for example), but you can only have two installations activated at the same time (mind you: activated is not the same as installed). No, you said you can only install on two machines. You may not use them simultaniously either. That's what i say, if you install on a pc or mac, it's activated, so 2 activations.
